Jose Rojo is now riding Savier shoes. Last week it was Quattro, now Savier, Jose Rojo is in demand.

It?s OFFICIAL. The new company from OHIO is call “Seek ” . The team is Josh Kalis, Rob Dyrdek, Colin McKay and German wonderboy, Florentin Marfaing. Everyone in Europe just calls him “Flo” and I?m sure that be how we refer to him in the USA once people start hearing about him.

Products should be available by next month.

Some of you may not realize that Paul Rodriguez is off Orion and trucking around on Royal.

Ruca is a new clothing company to hit the market. Jimmy Arrighi who used to own the infamous Hellbow ramp is the team manager and Ron Cameron will be doing some layout and design. The team is: Ethan Fowler, Ed Templeton, Cairo Foster, and Salman Agah.

Bryan Herman wrecked it in Tampa and right before doing that he hopped on November Clothing.

Expedition?s Stefan Janoski turned pro at this past ASR and has 3 boards out including a board made entirely of his skate tickets! If you have been seeing some of the video reviews on ALONE you will know it has been receiving great praise.

Don?t call Pete Eldridge “The Ox” anymore. That nickname belongs to the Portland Burnside legend and not the new Bootleg Am.

The 5boro Crew just got back from Florida for the Tampa Am contest and a road trip article. Josh Maready, Anthony Shetler, Nick Dompierre and Dan Pensyl all killed it with Maready getting the prized “best trick of the weekend? Trophy. I’m sure you’ll see his insane trick in every video and mag soon. Their new Spring/Summer 2002 line will also be coming out soon and will be available in shops in the spring, if your shop does not carry 5boro educate them.

New Pig Wheels riders include Austin Stephens, Corey Duffel, and J.P. Ladd.

Don Nguyen just accepted a new shoe sponsor. He will be rocking out in the new 4CE footwear line.

John Rattray has been putting the finishing touches on making the skateboard dream come true. He has made the huge move from Scotland to California and brought his lady with him. He just got his first American apartment practically next door to the Zero house and is in the market for a car. If anyone would like to donate a car to the Rattray car relief fund feel free to call Black Box.

Ryan Smith is the newest Am’s on Zero and his spot on the Zero Team is well deserved. Can?t wait to see his video part.

Kyle Berard is nearly fully recovered from his broken femur. He?s been sessioning his new ramp frequently and just left for the contest in Australia.

Lindsey Robertson was the mystery kid on ZERO flow for a while. He has finally proved his skills enough to be added to the Zero Team and is opening eyes all over. He had some hammer shots in the Zero Hero tour section in Transworld and more is on the way. Lindsey lives in Miami and isn’t scared to tell you that. He spent a month in California at the Zero house recently making lists of tricks to be done and checking it twice. He has a special room at the Zero house named after him called (The Players Club). Well it’s actually a closet but he’s a little guy. Lindsey is scheduled to return to California in February to try and finish his part for “DYING TO LIVE” which is going to make a lot of people recognize.

Mike Valley got drafted to play for Jerry Bruckeimer?s Bad Boys Game to Benefit Hockey?s All-Star Kids and Childrens Hospital. Mike was chosen to play forward for Bruceimer?s Bad Boys. A star studded team featuring Cuba Gooding, Men of Honor, Darrin Pfeiffer of Goldfinger, Chris Jericho of the WWF along with Alex Trebek of Jeopardy.

VIDEO BLITZ:

New Deal?s “7 Year Glitch” premiered during the ASR Long Beach. Should be in shops in a matter of weeks. The Dude did a fine job.

RDS: FSU premiered at ASR and will be in shops by mid February.

Coming on VHS on May 28, 2002 and DVD on June 17, 2002 is IN BLOOM, the new film from Transworld Skateboarding. It?s a film about the future of skateboarding and will feature: Tony Trujillo, Paul Rodriguez, Chris Cole, Mike Taylor, Evan Hernandez and Alex Gall. Expect a running time of 35 minutes.

5boro?s summer tour video “EZ- Pass Vacation” is almost done. Scheduled to release in Late February, we will be premiering it here in the city check the site for dates and time.

The upcoming Blind video is called “Up in Smoke” and is slated to be released in July or Aug. I know it?s pretty vague, but that?s all I can tell you.

EVENTS

ASR went down this past weekend in Long Beach. Several events went on throughout the weekend. Alex Bland, high switch ollie champ, check out his part in Who Cares? He vaulted just over 40 inches switch. Tony and Bucky won a vert doubles best trick contest and that?s about it.

The 5th Annual “The Sound and the Fury” Amateur Skateboard Competition is rapidly approaching. It?s set for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 10 through 12, 2002. at 7400 Sand Point Way N. E., Seattle, Washington. As in the past, the “Sound and the Fury” remains a stepping stone for some of the world?s most popular names in skateboarding. Mark Appleyard, Colt Cannon, Forrest Kirby, Gailea Momolu, and Anthony Mosely, are just a few of the skaters who have competed in their formative years at this event. This contest is held one week after “Slam City Jam” in Vancouver, B.C. This assures appearances from many of the top touring professional skateboarders. For the 5th consecutive year, “The Sound and the Fury” will be held in a giant airplane hangar at the retired Sand Point Naval Air Station in Seattle Washington. As always, the course will be off the hook, with an emphasis on realistic street-oriented obstacles.
