Donny Barley is in Argentina with fellow Emerica rider, Tosh Townend. Tosh comes home this week, while Donny will stay with the rest of the Element team in Brazil, then head straight to Europe for the annual contest season there. Tosh will be heading out to Europe as well, but he’ll be traveling with fellow Emerica ams Dennis Busenitz and Austin Stephens along with Emerica filmer, Jon Miner, photographer, Lance Dawes, and team manager, Justin Regan, on an Emerica Video filming mission abroad.

Ed Templeton is in Holland right now for the opening of an art exhibition of some of his recent work. He is traveling from there straight to Copenhagen for the first of the Euro contests.

Heath Kirchart is home in Orange County, California working on his next Emerica ad. To meet Heath’s exacting standards, the skating has to be mind-blowing, so expect a masterpiece from Heath real soon.

Andrew Reynolds is preparing to leave for Europe with the Baker crew next week. That didn’t stop him from filming a switch frontside 360 down nine recently.

Speaking of switch frontside 360’s, there’s been a lot of rumors flying around about Marc Johnson quitting Emerica. These rumors are FALSE. Marc is under contract with Emerica until well into the year 2003, so whatever you heard, check the source.

Off the Emerica team for real, however, is Dan Drehobl. Dan has been a faithful Emerica soldier for many years and represented well the roots and foundation of the brand. There is no more a creative or consistently amazing skater out there than Dan, and he will be greatly missed, but other companies were making lofty offers, and Emerica didn’t want to be responsible for holding Dan back from his full potential.

Evan Hernandez is on TSA Clothing.

Fresh home from an Adrenalin tour is Chris Senn. Chris traveled up and down the west coast of the USA with Toad, Jaya Bonderov, and Jon Minor, hitting just about every park on the way. Many grinds were carved at Mach speeds, many airs were chucked high, and many beers were chugged down. Next on the plate for Chris: Europe and total domination!

Eric Koston has been working on an ESPN Magazine kid’s article. This should be cool for the kids, as their kids publication is distributed everywhere Sports Illustrated Magazine is.

Paul Rodriguez has been shooting photos for Slap Magazine, after receiving SO MUCH coverage in the latest eS tour of England. Paul should have been knighted in England. Paul’s next destination? Europe with the City Stars te!!

Rodrigo Teixeira is still in Brazil, after going back there in May for a Hurley tour. Rodrigo is planning on being back in time for the Europe contests, if not, he will be competing in some highly anticipated Brazilian contests.

Rick McCrank is planning out a new mini ramp in his back yard. It’ll be 5’ tall, 24’ wide with crazy extensions (I’m not sure what he has planned with the extensions, but I’m sure it’ll be a ramp worth skating).

Tom Penny has been filming for the Flip video since January. It should be a part worth waiting to see, when the video comes out this August.

Moses Itkonen has taken off to Vancouver and then Toronto on a film trip for the RDS and Duffs videos. He is also with photographer Scott Pommier, so he should be getting some photos as well. He is busy trying to get his part finished, along with every one else. Look for the RDS video on Canada Day and the Duffs promo video in the next couple of months.

Damian Smith, Duffs and Santa Cruz am is in Europe. He is in Italy with his family. He is skating and having fun. He will be back soon to finish up his part for the Duffs promo and his part in the Thrasher video.

Nate Kocaka has left ATM to ride for Media Skateboards. This past week Nate graduated from high school. He took no time off. He left for the Media Southwest tour right after graduation. If you live in the Southwest, look for him in a town near you.

Progression number five is finally in stores. VHS copies of the video which include parts of Pat Channita, Dan Pageau, John Buchanan, Justin Reynolds, Guy Kampfen, Mike “Santa Fe” McCandlish, Billy Marks, and Brian Hutcherson should be in your local shop now. The crew is hard at work getting together bonus materials for the DVD version, which should be out in about a month.

Progression staffer Grant Schubert went on a northwest journey with the

Think team (Pat Duffy, Dan Drehobl, Pancho Moler, Jake Nunn, Sean Payne,

Renton Miller, and photographer Aaron Jones.) The full deal will be

included in the next progression, issue 6. Get on their mailing list to

find out about updates and check out some of the clips from the trip on

progressionvm.com.

Etnies’ Mike Vallely has been chillin’ since being home from the Tony Hawk tour with teammate Alex Chalmers. He will be making the trip to Europe later in the month to compete in Dortmund, Germany.

Alex Chalmers was in Tacoma, Washington over the weekend participating in a demo. The demo was on an island in a lake somewhere near Tacoma. Apparently, there was a small earthquake and Alex is stuck there due to damage of the ferry dock. Alex plans to stay in Vancouver for the next week or so to finish filming for the upcoming Flip video.

Lincoln Ueda was in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil over the weekend. He was there with teammate Jesse Fritch and Jurgen Horrwarth. Lincoln will be returning to Orange County, California before making his way to Copenhagen for the first of the Euro competitions.

Carlos de Andrade, Chris Lambert, Rob Gonzalez, Fabrizio Santos, Alex Gavin, Jeff Williams, Mike Manzoori, Jody Morris, and Sasha Steinhorst are getting ready to hit the road again. This time the crew is off to Europe for the Etnies Euro Tour. The team will be doing demos in Paris, France: Barcelona, Spain: Copenhagen, Denmark: Berlin & Breman, Germany and Rotterdam, Holland. Euro Etnies team members Jurgan Horrwarth, Christain Brox and Mark Haziza will also attend the demos. The boys will also be competing in the WCS contest in Copenhagen and Dortmund. Some of the crew (Gavin, Williams and Carlos) will be making the trip to Prague following the demo in Rotterdam. Fabrizio and Rob G will be traveling to Poland before the Mystic Cup in Prague. Chris Lambert will stay to film in Rotterdam.

Ryan Sheckler has been busy winning the last two CASL contests that he’s entered over the last 2 weekends. Ryan will be on vacation as of Friday and let me say that the terror will be on the loose!!! He will be going to the Windell’s snow/skate camp in Mt. Hood, Oregon on Saturday.
