In tragic news Keenan Milton died from drowning this past holiday. He was found early July 5th. Our condolences go out to his friends and family.

The Dude” is in Poland right now with Rob G, Kenny Reed, Ryan Johnson, Chad Bartie, and Fabrizio Santos.  They’re here for 2 weeks filming for the New Deal Video, Pete Thompson is here is well shooting photos for TWS. The team is working really hard on this video. It has been seven years since the last New Deal full length video. For a lot of the riders this will be their first real video part. After Poland Kenny Reed will travel to the dark regions of the world, The Carpathian Mountains in Romania, Ancient Castles in Transylvanina, home of Vlad the Impailer, and Count Dracula, as well as Moscow and St. Petersberg, Russia with On Video

A top notch amateur contest series kicked off this past weekend at the Ollie House in Temecula. IASC and NASC partnered to churn out the Damn Am Series. Brian Schaefer from the Skatepark of Tampa is spearheading the effort. Check www.damnam.com for all the news. See where the series is coming that’s close to your house. This series qualifies skaters from around the country to compete in the Am Finals to be held at the Volcom Skatepark in Costa Mesa in October.

Dave Bergthold, founder of Blockhead Skateboards, is organizing a

Blockhead reunion this coming September. Rick Howard, Steve Berra, Jason

Dill, Jeremy Wray, Sam Cunningham, Laban Pheidias, Chris Lambert, Omar

Hassan and many others have been part of the Blockhead family during its 10 year stint (84-94). Dave will be assembling the crew in order to film a documentary of the momentous gathering, which will coincide with the re-releases of Blockhead’s video anthology: Splendid Eye Torture, Adventures In Cheese, Recycled Rubbish, and Debbie Does Blockhead. The 20th annual Monster Mastership took place in the huge arena of the Westfalenhalle in Dortmund/Germany last week. 15 years old Bastien Salabanzi from France showed up and won the street segment. Rodil de Araujo from Brazil got second and Rick McCrank took home third . The vert final was won by Rune Glifberg who seems to be winning most of the contests that he enters. Lincoln Ueda flew 12 feet, 3 inches to win the Highest Air Contest.

Tom Penny is in Europe as well as Arto Saari and the rest of the Flip crew, skating in the Summer European Contest Series. This should be a new beginning for Tom Penny, if he skates all 3 contests. You will definitely be seeing some good footage and photos from Tom. Look out for his part in the upcoming Flip video due out later this year.

Sasha have been on the Etnies Summer Euro Tour for the last 2 weeks. The tour started on Wednesday June 13th in Paris, France with an indoor demo at the Cosa Nostra skate park. After a few days of filming in Barcelona the crew headed for the WCS contest in Copenhagen, Denmark on Thursday June 21st. Etnies sponsored a BBQ at the local skate park with the help of First Division (their distributor) on Thursday afternoon.

The Sessions team has returned from Japan. Where with their distributor they toured the shops and skateparks of Tokyo and Osaka. Included in the trip were Scott Bourne, JR Neves, Ryan Wilburn, and Charlie Wilkins.

Sessions new web site is up and running with the help of Threat Media (Bryce Knights, Tony Guerrero, and Chris Sprouls). It is a working site that will be updated twice a month with news, rider information, and product. Check it out at www.sessions.com.

Sessions would like to welcome Darren Navarette to the pro team. He is a long time friend of Sessions and is a great addition to their team.

This July will be Sessions Skateboarding’s first of many collaboration tours with Sessions Records. JR Neves, Darren Navarette, Scott Bourne, Gary Collins, and Corey Ryan will be touring with “The Missing 23rd” through Reno, Utah, and Colorado.
