Clive Packs On A Record With North County Food Bank

What are the Holidays without a little healthy competition? For many companies, the cry of “Food Drive” means an opportunity to clean out the cupboards and do a good deed for the Holidays. For the employees at Clive it symbolizes an all-out war for the good of humanity. As a result, Clive has donated over 61,000 pounds of food to the North County Food Bank. This is a record donation for them and is more food than they have ever received from anyone before.

Clive attributes this year’s success to a combined effort between its employees, athletes, Sales Representatives, friends and family. Clive would like to thank the following companies for their contributions to the food drive: Mervin Manufacturing, Giant Skateboard Distribution, Morrow Snowboards, Snowboarder Magazine and Transworld Publications.

From soliciting financial donations to raffling off skateboards, snowboards and other items, the Clive team did whatever it took to raise money for food donations. Pete McAfee, Sales Manager for Clive stated, “We’ve got a lot of people who rely on us to provide food throughout the year. We don’t want to disappoint them.”

The North County Food Bank serves as a distribution center for 37 agencies in North County, San Diego. Last year they serviced nearly 72,000 people (with a forecast of over 90,000 in 2001) and distributed over 300,000 pounds of food.

Although this particular donation is expected to last well into 2001, there is always a need for further donations to keep service of this kind moving forward. Please contact Tom Anglin at 760-839-6587 for information on how you can help.
