Etnies has taken the lead in developing a free public skatepark in the company’s hometown of Lake Forest, California. Etnies has donated 100,000 dollars to the project and in October hosted a design workshop. About 150 local skaters came and offered their ideas to skatepark designer Mike McIntyre of SITE Design Group, who was chosen to head the design and construction for the 40,000-square-foot Etnies Skatepark Of Lake Forest. SITE is responsible for highly-acclaimed parks throughout the Southwest. After McIntyre’s 45-minute opening presentation, attendees were divided into groups of ten and given the opportunity to map-out their vision for the park. The final design will include features for skaters of all abilities, and could be presented to the community as early as December.
