  • yeee Says:

    whhhaaatttt
ride the sky should have won best video

  • Charley Says:

of course alien workshop's mindfield got best video part is so sick

  • jed jedder Says:

i wanna suck sean maltos dick so hard it peals the skin miss you baby

  • whuddya Says:

AVE's part wasn't even in the top 3… of that video.

  • slipkNOT Says:

wasn't Ride The Sky released in 2008 and Mindfield in 2009 ? what year are these awards from ?

  • Brandon Says:

Yeah Mindfield definitely deserved it! Amazing video! Not only was the skating amazing but the filming and editing was the best in years!

  • Mono Says:

minefield sucked ass compared to ride the sky are you telling me that anthony olliing over a rail to nose grind it is better that billy marks switch bigheeling Carlsbad. Yes minefield was diffrent but diffrent isnt always good plus berras and robs parts in that video brought the level of that entire film so down how long did they have to film and they had like 40 second parts i know not everyone can have an amazing part but still you have to step it up

  • Vernon Says:

Relax, alien workshop killed it this year. Talking shit and making sexual advances to other nerds is kinda weird too.

  • Abooo Says:

Video of the year is FUN for me not to hyped about Mindfield actually , heath was a beast together with AVE though :)

  • john Says:

videos dont need to be about hammers kids…….everybody is good on a skateboard these days.

  • Catfish Says:

Yeah but I think the story behind the part is what really made it so good. Just like Guy last year, AVE came back from problems with drugs and alcohol and was able to make one of his best parts.

  • dirtythorson Says:

hell yea malto is a monster

  • dan Says:

    HEATH!

  • wwill Says:

malto is pro, why did he win best rookie?

  • sketch Says:

Heath kirchart's part in mind field was fucking mind blowing! but other than that i thought the rest of the video was just ok, it was just too dragged out with artsy shit. dont get me wrong, i love that stuff, but if i spend $30 on a skate video then i want to see some pretty thrash skateboarding!

  • ccrider Says:

Congrats AVE!!! You soooo deserved the award!

  • ccrider Says:

    Clearly you don't know shit!

  • Wazabiii Says:

    MALTO!

  • Cold Turkey Says:

Ride the sky was definitely better!!! One or two good parts do not make up for the week parts (yes plural as in many week parts) in the alien video!!! Unlike "Mindfield" Ride the sky had no week parts!!! creative skaters and hammers, tech and gnar … everything!!! So why are we even arguing ? … unless someone is running naked on the of a roof after eating shrooms creaming Lord … Mindfield was better!!!

  • pjlik;ljk Says:

kinda bummed on that. and now was a way better movie.

  • P.J. Says:

Malto should not have won at all.

  • jacob Says:

AWS killing it - well deserved

  • Tymer Says:

Ride the Sky's editing and style was bloody boring and cliche. The entire feel of the video. Even the name. The pure skating footage was absolutely amazing of course, even by today's standards, but footage is footage, not a video. It should NOT have won. All you kids who think you know better than people who have been working in the skateboarding industry for longer than the span of your lives, think again.

  • aftgadfg Says:

    yeah hewitt!!

  • chocolateygirls Says:

are you serious? berra does stuff for the berrics all the time, im surprised he even had time to film any tricks for his part. And rob dyrdek is doing stuff for mtv and his movie…which is kinda lame, but still. thats why those parts weren't as good as they could have been. plus, you gata love those guys even if their parts weren't as good as usual, i just enjoy to see them skate and have new footage. i do agree on the gnarness of the video though. ride the sky had better skating, and mind field had better editing. but just because your opinion on which video should win wasn't fullfilled, doesn't mean you need to hate and bring other skaters down. especially steve berra, for how much he has done for skateboarding with the berrics and all.

  • blah Says:

wtf all this is bull sh.it!!!

  • shadoken Says:

ride the sky was good but cmon people…..rail gap black T's over and over and over and over ……what about the other side of the coin namean…just enjoy dont hate, keep it positive ;)

  • ert Says:

seriously? workshop is mediocre at best, and mindfield was absolutely awful. ride the sky should have won, and cole should have won best video part. so dumb…

  • chode Says:

for real, tyler bledoe, dylan reider and grant taylor poop on AVE.

  • Berns Says:

Powell video "Fun" was the shit!

  • Lordata Says:

Because he's a Rookie pro, first year pro
    DUH!!!

  • fiend Says:

    fuck that guy

  • emerica Says:

  • vlad Says:

    heath is the best putoos

  • Pat Says:

Berra said he broke his ankle in the beginning of filming for this so that limited a lot of his part. Mind Field was an amazing video, and even though i don't think AVE's part was the part of the year (Omar's part and Dylan's part in Mind Field were so good), there's no doubt in my mind that they deserved to win best video.

  • grant Says:

i think that fully flared was so good it could have rolled over and won best vid for a few years

  • swag Says:

    heath shoulda won

  • robbbbbb Says:

WHAT?! ave's part was insane! switch bs tail - 180 to the noseslide?! epic…he went from no rails, to Killing rails…his part was one of the best.

  • dgrtg Says:

maltos fckn insaneeeee anyone who disagrees obviously hasnt been paying attention to his skating

  • gaby Says:

"are you telling me that anthony olliing over a rail to nose grind it is better that billy marks switch bigheeling Carlsbad"

    yes
at least thts wat im telling u an original trick at an original spot is better than the same trick at the same blown-out southern california spot that everyone had done everything on 6 years ago

  • SkateOrTry Says:

Tymer's comment says it all. Mind Field was so much more than just good skating put on film, it was a brilliant and artistic skateboarding film. Skateboarding is so much more than landing big hammers on your bolts and putting it on DVD to sell, it's letting your personality and style shine through in your skating, and that's what Mind Field was about. Whether it's the way Omar skates as if he's a just a kid having fun or the way AVE skates like he's seen and experienced too much to care about the bullshit anymore, everyone on Alien Workshop has a distinct style that shines through in their video part, and Alien Workshop has a distinct weirdness that flows through the video. Workshop is pushing the artistic values of skateboarding. If you don't get what I'm saying find the article "The Activity is the Art" from the July 2008 issue of Transworld and eat it up. There's some wise words from Templeton and Stecyk in there that turned my view of skateboarding upside down. Don't get me wrong, Chris Cole is one of my all time favorites and I think that the Fallen team is sick, but Mind Field earned this award for sure.

  • joey Says:

i cant believe this shit. ave sucked. mind field was ok. but ride the sky should have won. heath barely even skates. cole should have gottten best video part hands down. and whoever said malto shouldnt have won at all must have some type of mental illness. if you no anything about skating, you should no that malto is a badass. wait till hes as old as some of these other dudes. hes gonna run shit.

  • caleb Says:

heath should hav got best part. his ending bs flip was amazing.

  • Gnar Kitty Says:

    Dude, fuck you.
Ride The Sky was amazing yes, but Mindfield was filmed and edited way better than Ride The Sky. You can't just take into account the level of skating that happened in the video, it's the whole package brahhh.
You can't hate on Berra and Rob's parts either. Berra runs the fucking Berrics with Koston and not much more help, and Rob has got all those shows going on (that really isn't a great reason, but he does help tons of areas build free skateparks).
Just enjoy the video and be happy for them.
Strange World is coming out soon and hopefully another Toy vid. soon so you can get your fix for all those amazing skaters.
It's skateboarding, EVERYONE is amazing these days.

  • Poughtown Skater Says:

Maybe if Jake Johnson was on Fallen they would have won that award.
    But he's not.
And you suck dick for hating on AWS man.
When was the last time any of their team had full parts in a video anyway?
Don't get me wrong though, Chris Cole and Billy Marks are two of the best skateboarders to ever live. They just take skating stairs, gaps, and handrails to the next level…pretty much the whole Fellen team does that.
Both teams pretty much rapped your mother with their level of mindblowing skateboarding.
Just be happy and keep skating is all.
Don't get caught up in talking bout' the hype, be the hype.
    Peace.

  • TSX Says:

Cole is brutally amazing, but it's not like we all haven't know this since First Blood.
