Nike SB’s busy summer just keeps rolling. First it was Stefan’s shoe, then the Debacle video and the addition of Eric Koston to the team. Up next, it’s celebrating Go Skateboarding Day by opening a new public skate park in Los Angeles. The park’s design and construction are pretty unique—read the press release for the details.

granted other states need it way more but why wouldn't you put it where you grew up too? that and there's never too many skate parks.

Nor cal has alot of good parks, so cal not so much…… only if you like bowls and tranny and like driving an hour or two to every good park. upland, chino, pedlow, etnies and a couple others are it. the rest are whatever or just flat out terrible, just look online. i realize a lot of you are from places with only one skatepark and spots are total busts or dont even exist but those are the breaks my friends.
cali's pretty nice for skating but more because the weather than the spots. spots be dying left and right man…. countless downtown LA rails, the Chaffey ledges, the slymar 9, just to name a few. others are complete busts unless you go at 2 am. ever notice that in all cali footage now people are skating ditches, parks, and secret abandoned spots, even that one school with the multi color ledges is a closed down school.

Agree to disagree. This park is perfect for the community that it is in. All these "cali has so many parks" bull is just making me laugh. Half the skate parks in Cali are in the middle of nowhere and there is maybe 10 people skating the park in a whole day. This skate park is pefect. Also if u grew up in a area with not many spots orskate parks its best to give things to the locals rather then some slacker in middle america. The only other parks close to this one (that i know of) is Pedlow - A Rec. & Park caged in skate park thats still missing 50% of the planed lay-out. Skatelab - a 40-60 min drive from P-Rods Park. Not many 15 and under kids will have a chance to go this is perfect indoor park. So the next best thing is to build a skate park close to where he grew up.
