Favorite skate spot: The O in Montreal. Skate there for hours, no bust, the convenience store even delivers.
Bad habit: Forgetting peoples’ names.

Worst injury: Well, I took a hatchet in the shin once.
Best skate shoes: Vox. I’m really feelin’ the Hewitt 2′s and the Guzman’s.

Who hooked you up: Jud Heald has really helped me out. Scot Ripple at Vox, Aaron at Vox. Everyone at ERGO, they’re always down for anything. Keith at Indy. Chris and Gary Smith at Vu. Steve and Dan at 5Boro. Scott Walters taught me how to skateboard. But mostly, I’d be lost without Jesus.

Shawn is one Hale of a skateboarder. The first time I saw Shawn skate my eyes went crossed, my tail went between my legs, and I started to shake knowing that I was on the same team as this dude. But after I started talking to him I realized he is just a totally normal married 22 year old dude. Wait, since when is that normal for a skateboarder? It’s not, and that’s one of my favorite things about Shawn. Although he lives for skateboarding, he doesn’t live handrail to handrail. He sees the bigger picture. So kids, if you see him, talk to him, ’cause he’ll be just as stoked to talk to you. Shawn rules.—Andrew Cannon
