Over our week in the Cayman Islands, it wasn’t all cut-throat competition at the Black Pearl (it actually never was), there was also relaxing in the pool, afternoon snorkeling, trying our luck on the wave pool, and even a scuba diving expedition one day. The bartenders were friendly, the Red Stripes were plentiful, and the seafood was delicious. We’ll be back there this summer for more skate camps and we recommend you do the same. Here’s a bunch of photos that Chris Ray and Blair Alley shot of what went down during the heated sessions and relaxing down time that island life provides.

Fresh off multiple flights that included a red-eye, Tyler Surrey and Wes Kremer toast the island’s secret watermelon soda at the Grand Cayman airport.

David Gravette posing with some fans at the Black Pearl.

At our resort, Treasure Island, this is the view.

Local Pama and Gravette on the intimidating skull tombstone.

The pirate ship mini ramp float.

You can grind coral here.

Seashell deathbox.

Marius and a skate camper discuss lines atop one of the cradles.

Wes and Tyler stay hidden in the shade while Ray Ray braves the heat.

Youngsters getting a taste of tour life.

Calico Jack’s hooked us up with a fantastic dinner one night. Highly recommended for sure. Here’s the trifecta in paradise.

Friendly locals.

Marius dialing in his Canon AE-1.

Amazing coffee, smoothies, and pastries every morning. Right at the skate park!

Tried to get a crew photo but Wes wasn’t into sitting under the water cooler.

The trifecta at Billy Bones Bar at Treasure Island where we had dinner every night. Again, highly recommended.

Heated ping pong games went down nightly at Billy Bones.

Comfy quarters.

Can you blame her?

Typical afternoon at the Treasure Island pool.

We all hit up the shipwreck off the beach with our snorkels. Salute to the fallen crew.

We all tried our hand at the wave pool. Wes gets a foam warm up.

Bingaman getting shacked bro!

Gravette had a strict wavepool training regimen.

Wes was shredding like he was in the WCT versus Slater.
Marius and Taylor doubled up.

Shaka brah.

Camoflage iguanas above the hot tub.

We got surprised one day with an invite to go scuba diving! Here’s the crew signing their lives away.

Go here, ask for Ash. Dude is an island legend and a cool cat.

David is ready to identify tropical fish underwater.

Geared up to go down under.

Successful dive! Went about 30 feet down to a huge shipwreck.

Very appropriate pirate ship fly by.

“Ray Ray in paradise.”

Some nice person gave us all coozies!

And the sun sets on 2009…

… and thus began our voyage into 2010. We took the long walk along the beach from Treasure Island to Calico Jack’s and saw many interesting things on the way.

Our destination and home to the best New Year’s party on the island.

Happy New Year to you too.

The crew at Calico Jack’s ready to ring in 2010.

Wes and Pama throw up the international sign of friendship.

Seriously ridiculous palette fire on the beach. Photos can’t do this night justice. It was unforgettable.

Bye for now Cayman. We’ll be back this summer!
