TWS C.U.T. Presented by WeSC NYC Wrap Up

The last stop of our Come Up Tour presented by WeSC went down Sunday May 12 at NYC’s Lower East Side park in conjunction with Labor Skateshop. After thunderstorms on Saturday, the weather cooperated and a huge crowd came out to skate and kick it. We had Arto Saari, Chris Pastras, Clint Peterson, Jordan Trahan, Josh Zickert, and Oscar Meza in town as guest judges and we even had NYC visitors Austyn Gillette, Raymond Molinar, and Dylan Rieder stop by and hang out. The level of skating was amazing—NYC skaters continue to impress us every time we come out. Piro Sierra won the judges Prime C.U.T. award with his hairy moves and colorful style. Rounding out the top three were Tyshawn Jones in third, Steven Farmer in second, and Andrew Valencia in first. Congrats to all these guys, and you’ll be seeing Andrew’s, as well as the winners from the other 5 stops, street video parts coming to the site soon. You’ll be able to vote on your favorite and the winner will get a Check Out in the mag! Our very first Come Up Tour is a wrap! We’ll be doing this again next year, but even bigger and better. Our sincere thanks to every skater, shop, and city that hosted us and came out to be a part of it—you all rule.
