What you see is what you get. If I were to explain it in the most basic of terms, there was a stack of wood and there was skating. Doubles to be exact. The best part about skateboarding like all other forms of activities that can be elevated to art, is obviously they are open to subjective discussion. No “good” and “bad” or “yes” and “no”, but a lot of interesting things between the extremes. And no matter what ideas I had, the real answers lay in the creativity of the six skaters and the photographer. Because many times there is no story, no explanation, only concept and execution. If the resulting photographs are the execution; and if they are cryptic and puzzling, then perhaps explanation is cryptic and puzzling. In nothing there is always something. Something for the viewers to interpret for themselves.

Great vid but that intro text is terrible. "Something for the viewers to interpret for themselves."… what a cop-out. Either write something that adds to the video, or don't write anything at all. And then Sheckler's milk promo pops-up in the way - ugh. I miss the days of just popping a video into the VCR.

The wood does look cool first of all. second of all, maybe think about the relationship between the stacked wood, and the wood under the riders feet. To me, it represents an interesting connection and relationship with riding and being surrounded by the trees and logs…something organic. The videography in the DVS segment in my opinion blew every other video away. The Etnies video was creative, but if we are talking in terms of an artistic aesthetic, DVS takes the cake. I think your critique on the video is half assed. Instead of formulation gaudy, shallow opnions on things maybe you should watch closer and think harder about whats going on and whats around you.
