Check Out – Wess Cobb

“Hey, y'all think I could crash down here tonight? I don't really got anywhere else to stay.”

This is one of the first things Wes ever said to me. And letting him stay was one of the best decisions we ever made. He stayed under the Washington Street bridge with us for almost a year, working and giving back to skateboarding. Little did we know what an impact he would have on all of our lives. Watching Wes skate truly reflects his personality, and I'm convinced that the finesse in his style comes from the steady supply of Motown music and the easygoing attitude he has toward life. I could ramble on and tell you stories about pink scooters, Bar Dynamite, and being a genius, but you'd never get any of it. He made it through one of the gnarliest slams ever and is on the road to a full recovery. So on behalf of everyone down at the park and all the boys and girls in South Cakalacka, we'd like to tip our hats to a true friend and brother of ours. “Damn it, Cobb!”–Glenn Wagner
