Finally the guy that everyone wanted to win, wins! Jake edged out Bob Burnquist with a backside 360 across the 70-foot gap to a 21-foot high 540 to win gold. He even tried 900s on the quarter pipe in his last two runs! Not to discredit Bob as he flew across the gap with a switch backside 180, no grab, into a huge indy backside 360 landing fakie. That was nuts. Bronze medalist was 21-year old San Diego head Rob Lorifice—his first X Games medal. Well, the X Games weekend is officially off to a rad start. Stay tuned as we report up to the minute from DC’s Gold Standard hotel all weekend. For now, enjoy these mega photos.

Jake Brown has been on the up since he was Ripping the Mini Ramp and Fairfield in Sydney NSW back in the Early 1990's.
Let's Hope this is the first of many big air wins for Jake Brown.
I am waiting to see if He pulls that elusive 900 in Melbourne later on this year.

Congrats to Jake. What a triumphant return. But what is up with format of the contest to decide the winner? Let them skate it out.
