Natural Koncept’s exclusive artist Katch 1 made the trek from Hawaii to NYC for his month long art show titled Time’s Up at Gallery Bar in the LES. 16 never before seen canvases, 36 marker drawings, a slew of hand-drawn boards and classic NK decks transformed the space into a virtual trip inside the mind of the notorious graffiti artist. A mind exploding with bright vibrant colors, detailed imagery, and the seamless insertion of working clocks into the large canvases.
Brooklyn Dawn and Jayceeoh DJ’d while the Illegitimate Bastard Child and Dysfunctional Family videos looped. Eric Munday and The Skate Lair Mob represented in full force. BIO, NICER, BG 183, HOW and NOSM of the TATS Cru, TDEE from DF, Werds and even Just 195 from LA’s NASA Crew kept it live while Dan Pensyl, Jefferson Pang, Nolan Lee, James Mcguinness and a grip of NYC skaters kicked back with endless Brooklyn Lager on draft.
The night continued on in true NYC fashion with some shredding, drinks at The Fish, and a few more cocktails at the club. Lookout for Katch’s new 267 page hardcover book on his life’s work—arriving at your local skate shop soon!
