After a ten-plus year run at Cliché and their unfortunate closing-of-the-doors last November, the rumors were deemed true as Big Brophy was announced as the newest pro on the Girl Skateboards squad, thus making him the first pro addition to the team since BA joined in 2001. He talks about the transition—amongst many other things—in his interview in our May/June 2017 issue (available now). With news like that, it only made sense to get his new pro model, along with a few other items of his to show off in this issue. From Girl to Tensor to GoPro and CONS, these are a few items that we (and Brophy) like. Now go read his interview, mates. —Brian Blakely
Girl Skateboards – Andrew Brophy ‘Sheila’
One for the collection, one for the archives, or just one for you to skate—this is the first of many to come. Brophy’s new Girl pro model is here! For those of you that don’t know, “Sheila” translates to “woman,” or rather, “girl” in Australian slang—get it? Hit girlskateboards.com/brophy to stay on top of everything that’s happening with this new couple. You know you want to.
GoPro – Hero5
The GoPro camera has come a long way since its birth in 2002. Since then, a team has been built, a handful of cameras and accessories have been created, and they continue to
test the limits of what this popular camera technology has to offer. The Hero5 is arguably their best camera yet and you can learn all about it on gopro.com.
Converse CONS – Breakpoint Pro
The Breakpoint Pro design is timeless and simplistic; the durability of the shoe is what ultimately makes it great for skateboarding. So whether you’re hollering at Sheila’s in
the pub or hitting the streets with your crew, sliding into a pair of these things will always be the right choice. #BrophyApproved converse.com/cons
Tensor – Mag Light Regular
Want that Brophy pop? Well, listen up! With a recent update in design, the ‘Mag Light’ from Tensor features a hollow axle and kingpin and is arguably the lightest truck ever made. Seen here in two colorways, including Brophy’s signature color (Royal/Raw). Tensor continues to stand behind their product and guarantees all of their trucks for life. Don’t believe me?
