Nixon’s Art Mosh

(ENCINITAS, CA) The stylee watchmakers at Nixon decided to take a break from counting time and threw an art party this Saturday. Actually, they called it an art mosh. Nixon invited over a bunch of their favorite North County San Diego artists, filmmakers, and photographers including Keith Malloy, Quiksilver’s Mark Oblow, Dustin Ortiz, Tyler Nelson, and Encinitas’ own UNIV (co-owned by Mirko Mangum). There were so many people crammed inside boozing and schmoozing that the heat and humidity reached uncharted heights. I had to wipe the fog off the camera lensbefore every photo. It was that bad. But there was also plenty of good, including tons of great art, wicked-hot girls, and free liquor. Even Lyn-Z Adams Hawkins and A Time To Shine‘s Dylan Rieder showed up. Not a bad way to get some culture.—Carleton Curtis
