For those that don’t know, the Oceanside skate park was a little oasis in the desert of burn outs, bums, teenage tweakers, and military dickheads in downtown Oceanside. It was free to skate and no pads were required. And since simply riding your skateboard down the sidewalk in Oceanside is punishable by a fine, it really was the only place to skate. Now the city has torn it down to make room for a hotel with no alternative plan in sight, and without making plans to donate or give away the wood and ramps. Thanks, Oceanside, you really are a turd of a city.—Blair Alley
