Eli Reed, Mark Appleyard and Chaz Ortiz watching prelims. Chaz Ortiz cheers on Sheckler. If there was one difference this year, it seemed that everyone was smiling a lot more than the past years. Less eye of the tiger and more fun. Maybe the seriousness left when Street League officially started or it’s just something in the air, but the Street finals seemed like a good time for everyone involved.

1x

Techmology… Joey Brezinski commented live on the contest for ESPN.

2x

Ryan Sheckler was messing up the broken tea cup. Frontside air.

Skateboard industries’ ambassadors (from left to right): Chris Nieratko, Don Brown, Jeff Taylor, Felix Arguelles, Joey Brezinski, Mike Sinclair, Ryan Dewitt, etc. and a Mad Max 2 lookalike camera woman.

You might not know, but Eli Reed is on the Mountain Dew Amforce team. I’m sure there’s a pre-determined shirt to market the Dew, but Eli went DIY, got an old Mountain Dew logo, when it wasn’t so obnoxious, and stitched it to his shirt. A little more discreet.

3x

Illustrious judge Matt Milligan and Pat Duffy look on.

4x

Ryan Decenzo lipslide in the tea cup.

5x

Sheckler with a solidly locked back tail.

6x

This was one of the more interesting takes on the course. Sheckler did a big carve through the whole thing and grinded off the lip to flat. Booyah!

p7310163

This here starts the rail annihilation photos. Ryan Decenzo kickflip frontside lipslide. No joke. He had it like that. He made it into finals.

p7310164

Fellow Hallelujah alum, Taylor Bingaman watched on.

7x

Alice in Wonderland. Sheckler frontside ollie.

p7310174

The Kalis family was there, too. Probably didn’t see that on TV.

p7310175

Omar was stoked on Bastian Salabanzi’s run. He didn’t make finals, but it’s still good to have him back. Makes things interesting.

p7310176

Rodolfo Ramos was killing it. Noseblunt.

p7310181

Backside bigspin boardslide from Sierra Fellers. Dude does some pretty unique tricks. He did a nollie flip backside boardslide that looked like there was no way of pulling and he dipped it down in there and made it. He made it into the finals and finished fifth, on the off chance you haven’t gotten the results yet.

p7310191\

Eli Reed with a smooth switch frontside board in the finals.

p7310193

Stefan Janoski was there with his lady, perma-hyped on everything going down.

8x

People were stoked and stuff.

10x

We all know this by now.

11x

Bronze was stoked on third.

13x

Always time for the fans.

In the end, Sheckler won it all and, like I said, with a big old grin on his face. It looked like he was taking it less like a serious sporting event and more like a session with friends.

img_0145

Jereme Rogers and Danny Way were having a chummy catch-up.

img_0146

To the victor go the spoils… lots of interviews.

img_0148

Sierra had his own fans, though, too.

12x

See, comaraderie and shit.

14x

Nyjah’s run was killer, too. Some might say real killer. How is it that this kid’s still only fifteen, though?

I just wanted a picture of Lil’ Jon to fill the X Games Lil’ John quota. But, it was a pleasant surprise to get rider for formerly-Listen company turned Boulevard, Jose Pereyra, unknowingly in the background.

img_0164

After Street finals, Park practice went down again. Park finals are tomorrow. It’s gonna be good. Curren Caples and Taylor Bingaman kick back and relax between practice runs.

Bucky Lasek with stylish taco tailslides.
