This week kicked off with Omar Salazar’s shoe release, but shoe dimensions, heavy media coverage (we’re guilty) and outer dimensions aside, it’s just rad to see someone as energetic and loyal to the cause of skating get his just desserts. Instead of merely basking in the limelight, he used the event to build three new obstacles at Sacramento’s B Street skatepark—where they held the demo (dealing with fundraising and lots of city bureaucracy prior to the event)—and he’s currently in the process of sending some funds to help Chileans in the wake of last week’s earthquake. The whole space-themed shoe release ended off with a party featuring Earthless and Shrindbuilder. But, as skateboarding’s vivacious little brother, I took the opportunity to ask his teammates, pals and family about their favorite Omar moments, filmed entirely with the shit technique that you can come to expect from me, Sight Unseen recreations and some skate footage at B Street and Epic skatepark, all set to tunes from Leonard Nimoy. Hope you enjoy exploring outerspace with Omar.

Poor filming/editing by Josh Brooks. Smudges on the lens by my backpack or the carne asada.
