Continuing with our series of And Now follow-up interviews, here’s one of the most talked-about parts from our 20th video, Aussie sensation Richie Jackson. Be sure to peep the huge gallery of photos—many of which never ran in the mag.
Interview by Blair Alley
Where in the world have you been since the And Now premiere? I randomly saw you in NYC about a month after having no idea you were going to be there.
Yep, that was amazing. After NY, I split to London and then Barcelona to keep the good times rolling. Came back to Sydney about three months ago, mission accomplished. (Interview con’t under gallery)

What feelings do you have when you watch the video, now that it’s been out for a while?
It hasn’t been long enough for me to get any nostalgia or anything, maybe give it a year?
What impact did that video have on your skating and career?
More love, more hate. Everything just got amplified. My allies are stoked and my enemies are pissed!
Do you still keep in contact with the gang?
No one will answer my calls. I organized a reunion party which nobody came to. Sent out the invitations, baked a cake, hired out the gymnasium for the night—nobody showed up.
What video are we going to see you in next?
The details of this are shrouded in secrecy.
Alright you bestman, holler at me next time you make it out to Cali.
Not a problem my friend, can’t wait!

as long as he doesn’t change himself to be accepted by the OGs I’m happy he skates the way he does. He’s not the new Simon Woodstock, he’s adding some tangible things to the skate palate so to speak.

ohhh—he's an Aussie–that explains it–he's so leftfield , the cognoscenti don't even know what to hate!
Cool fucking hair–
a waxed, movie-villain-from- the- twenties mustache-
late sixties acid-hit steez–
and ridiculous,Hosoi-esque sreet moves–(does this dude ride vert and parks, too?–that would add insult to
the butthurt i'm seeing here…so what that he's not sporting the latest wigga look–he burns everybody but Spencer and Miyagi to to GROUND when it comes to degree of difficulty–and THAT'S WHAT COUNTS, robotniks!!
