By the end of day two of the Dew Tour in Boston, the massive field had been whittled down to the final twelve skateboarders: Dennis Busenitz, Chaz Ortiz, Peter Ramondetta, Paul Rodriguez, Ryan Sheckler, Ryan Decenzo, Carlos De Andrade, Chris Mendes, Chris Cole, Rodolfo Ramos, Dave Bachinsky, and Greg Lutzka. The finals were scored on the combination of a run and a jam session format. In the end, Sheckler came out on top, and consequently, thousands of teen and tween girls nearly brought down the barriers as they attempted to come within arm’s reach of the champion of the day. As you can tell by the video, photographer Chris Ortiz and I were flabbergasted to witness “The Sheckler Effect” first hand. Luckily all parties made it out alive, the smoke cleared, and it was time for the TransWorld Best Trick contest at the Dew Tour. Coming up next.—Eric Stricker

Ok I went to this thing, And Decenzo and cole were Robbed, Granted I do think Sheckler Did Good, But Not 1st place Good, And I went home To watch the show, and the camra was like only on Sheckler during the jams, Chris cole Absolutly Killed it., He said That all those Girls were there "for skateboarding", Thats a load of Crap, They were there becuase they "love" Ryan sheckler" It was a fricken beauty Pajent.

any fan who follows skateboarding enough realizes each rider does the same tricks in every contest, which makes it get a little stale. at least maloof brings out some new faces and the jam format helps too.

If little pre-teens screaming for ryan lame-as-hel sheckler is the next level of skateboarding than I have lost all hope in this sport that i so love. Any skater who has a reality TV show and more fans that are teenage girls than actual skaters is a huge SELL-OUT in my book (not to mention his Panasonic sponsor wtf). Lutzka is not on globe anymore and if he is on KSWISS that is lame as shat as well. The Dew Tour represents everything that is wrong in skateboarding. This has turned skateboarding into a freaking beauty pageant and it is pathetic. There should only be Am contests from now on. At least Ams are unknown to teenage girls, willing to go big, and do way more gnarlier tricks in contests. It is sad to see that this is what the mainstream has done to skateboarding. Where is the creativity and most importantly the FUN?

wow i cant believe the tws guys said that. why. like this is a disaster. i went to the thing and it just pissed me off by the fact that all these girls showed up to see shecklers FACE and not him skateboard. The judges also dont understand what switch is. and the announcers cant even call the tricks right. so i mean how are u gonna judge a contest if u dont know how hard a switch trick is. i mean cmon. decenzo killed it

The Dew Tour full stop is very badly done TV Coverage and course design is woeful.
the Winter Dew Tour only got to be watchable after the NBC attempts at the Ski Cross course almost killed Casey Puckett and friends.
Let's see the X-Games get bigger and better at least I can handle the Danny Way obsession he has actually ridden a skateboard correctly. Remember the first xgames sheckler won thyat course was built for him. Let the skaters ride the BMX freestyle ramps and let the best skater win street or vert i personally don't care i want to see real skating like Rune Glifberg does and John Cardiel does.

Did anyone actually watch the dew tour?! Sheckler absolutely did switch tricks both in Boston and at Maloof…something he's been working on a ton this past year and you can tell. He's absolutely improved as a skater and he deserved the win. If you go into watching the dew tour expecting Sheckler to suck then you're gonna find reasons for it. Try watching next time and not thinking about who he is. Just watch what he does and judge him on that. P.S. he can't help that he's fucking sexy. He was just born that way. Perhaps you should be hating on his hot ass mother instead.
