Summer is over and so is Sun Diego’s 1st annual amateur skate contest series.  The AmSlam Finals went down this past Sunday at the Clairemont Skatepark.  As expected, we witnessed some of the best skating from the entire series on Sunday.  All the AmSlam Finalists earned their spot based on points accumulated through the first 5 stops, so congratulations go out to everyone who qualified.  But once there, the playing field was evened and everyone was given 2 one-minute runs on the newly remodeled Clairemont street course.

Big ups to all the winners of the day, but Top Props goes out to a truly amazing skateboarder, BRENDON VILLANUEVA!  Brendon’s 1st Place finish in the Open Division makes him Sun Diego’s 2008 AmSlam Champion! B-Villian also won the13 and Under Division AND took the trophy for Overall Points Leader for the 13 and Under Division. Congrats Brendon on a well deserved win!

Once again, Sun Diego wishes to thank all of the AmSlam Sponsors including Monster Energy, Lost Clothing, and Transworld SKATEboarding as well as all the companies that donated prizes for the series.  Thanks to all the skaters and the parents who participated in the AmSlam, and everyone else who helped out in any way.  It has been a great summer and we can’t wait to do it again next year!
