Today at San Diego’s Hall Of Champions, Tony Hawk and Willy Santos were interviewed during a luncheon attended by family, friends, and fans. Honored as native San Diegans, Tony has had a display at the HOC for a while now, while Willy’s was unveiled for the first time. The two talked about meeting in the late 80s at School W, making next to nothing as pros back then, and starting Birdhouse. They both talked about their respective philanthropy, Hawk with the Tony Hawk Foundation, and Willy recently spearheading an auction that raised money for cancer research. Willy was then awarded a plaque from the HOC. After the interview/audience Q & A, they both hung out for photos and autographs. There are plans for a possible Action Sports Hall Of Champions in the future for San Diego.
