Vans and Estevan Oriol teamed up last Thursday night, December 11, in Downtown Los Angeles for an evening celebrating the photographer’s ICONOclasts series of portraits.  Vans commissioned the photos for a print and outdoor campaign seen globally the past few months and those who sat down in front of Oriol’s lens included artists Robert Williams and Wes Humpston, musicians Henry Rollins and Lemmy Kilmister, skate legend and filmmaker Stacy Peralta, skater John Cardiel, longboard surfer Joel Tudor, and Sarah from Paris’ venerable Colette boutique.

The event took place at Oriol & Mister Cartoon’s Last Laugh Pop-Up and luminaries that showed up included Williams and Rollins as well as actress Mena Suvari and model Joy Bryant.  Cartoon was busy inking in his adjoining parlor.

Proceeds from the evening benefitted the Midnight Mission located on LA’s Skid Row.  Learn more about subjects of the exhibit and how to donate to the Midnight Mission for a FREE ICONOclast poster book at vans.com/icons

This is a horrible campaign. What a bite of the IFC series. Get a clue Vans. And my toddler could have taken those photos.
