After Chinese government officials, local media, and local skaters swarmed the park for Saturday’s official grand opening of Woodward Beijing, the day closed out with a three-section Best Trick contest with more than $10,000 up for grabs. With three spots picked out in the plaza—the long three stair and rail, the A-frame and manny, and the handrail and stairs—and 1st through 5th place paying out at every section, everybody took home some cash. David Loy killed the A-Frame and took first there, while Tom Asta and Ryan Sheckler battled it out at the other two sections. Tom got first at the three stair and the handrail while Sheckler went home the overall winner for killing it all around. Watch how it went down.
