Sessions is holding the 14th Annual Tim Brauch Memorial Skate Contest on September 22 and 23. Tim, a SESSIONS team rider, continuously inspired his friends, family, and community with his positive outlook and youthful spirit. Tim’s untimely passing in 1999 at the age of 25 led Sessions to create the Tim Brauch Memorial Fund, an independent non-profit which donates 100-percent of the money collected to skateboard youth scholarships and park development.

The 14th Annual Bowl Contest, hosted by X-Games sport organizer World Cup Skateboarding, is part of the Concrete Series, which holds the title of the “Longest Running Bowl Event” in the U.S.The Bowl Contest will be held at Lake Cunningham Regional Skate Park in San Jose, CA on September 22, 2012. Lake Cunningham Regional Skate Park opened in early 2008 and, at an expansive 68,000 square feet, is the largest skate park in California. The park also features the world’s largest full pipe, tallest vert wall, and the largest cradle. Guaranteeing this epic venue will be tested, pro skaters in attendance will include last year’s winner Steve Caballero, and top vertical skaters Christian Hosoi, Eddie Elguera, and Jeff Hedges to name a few. Prize money of $5,000 will be up for grabs alongside some impressive prizes from sponsors.

This year’s street contest will be held on September 23, 2012. In addition to engaging youth and promoting skateboarding as a safe, healthy, and fun activity, the Tim Brauch Memorial Fund provided Scotts Valley with the money, tools, and knowledge to build a proper skate park, appropriately named in Tim’s honor. The Tim Brauch Memorial Skate Park continues to host the street portion of the contest, an exciting competition for kids of all ages that exemplifies what the Tim Brauch Memorial Fund is all about. The contestants, who are separated into the Groms (aged 12 & under) and Am Divisions, compete for prizes and bragging rights.
