San Francisco, Ca, July 3rd, 2004: Highlight your calendars as the All Girl Skate Jam (AGSJ) – International Girls World Championships of Skateboarding will take place Saturday July 3rd, 2004 at Pier 30-32 in San Francisco (Warf District) from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Presented by Xtreme Angel, AGSJ XVIII is brought to you by SPIN Magazine and will be featured within the Vans Warped Tour’s Girlz Garage.
AGSJ XVIII will bring spectators the best female amateur and professional Vert Skateboarders from around the world into one arena for some of the most exciting action in core sports today. These athletes will compete for $5,000 cash and incredible prizes from more than 35 skateboard related sponsors.
Sanctioned by the International Girls Skateboarding Association (IGSA), the International Girls World Championship of Skateboarding will feature three divisions: Grom (10 & under), Amateur (teenagers) and Pro, enabling girls of all ages and abilities to participate. The biggest names in pro skateboarding such as Cara-Beth Burnside, Jen O’Brien, Heidi Fitzgerald, Kim Peterson, Mimi Knoop and Sasha La Rochelle will be battling it out for top cash prizes. Also be sure to look out for rising amateurs such as Becky Syracopoulos, Ciara D’Agostino to wow the audience.
Another highlight of the event will be the AGSJ first ever Fashion Show. Skateboard and action sports’ models will cruise the runway displaying the newest, most innovative and revolutionary look in skateboard fashion from designers around the Country and Canada.
Throughout the day, the AGSJ booth will be rocking with fun events and happenings. Anyone can learn how to ollie by participating on one of the daily free skateboard clinics. You will also be able to test your skills on Vew-Do Balance Boards and Flow Lab Ollie Blocks.
In addition, enjoy arts and crafts on the AGSJ “Paint a Board using stencils by Motto or test your luck on the AGSJ “Spin Wheel where only one dollar and one spin could give you the chance to win fabulous skateboard related prizes worth hundreds of dollars.
This event is just one of 45 stops for the AGSJ on the Vans Warped Tour showcasing some of the top female competitors while giving girls around the nation and Canada a chance to compete among the best.
