Skateboarding and BMX Up-and-Comers Are Challenged to Show Off What They’ve Got

WHO: Ryan Nyquist Four-time X Games BMX gold medalist, Nate Adams 2003 Vans Triple Crown freestyle motocross champion, Jason Ellis Pro skateboarder and TV personality, and Local Las Vegas amateur talent.

WHAT: Nyquist, Adams and Ellis will be on hand to kick off the 2004 NestlĂ© Butterfinger “Break Out” Challenge prior to the THQ World Supercross GP & THQ AMA Supercross Series finals in Las Vegas.

Skateboarders and BMX riders will be videotaped for entry in the Butterfinger “Break Out” Challenge, a competition to find the best amateur action sports talent in the U.S.

Amateur athletes between the ages of 15-25 will have the chance to showcase their best skateboarding or BMX tricks on a specially designed 8,000 square-foot street course, with rails, jumps and ramps.

All entries will be submitted into the national ?Break Out? Challenge contest, which will run from May 1 ? Sept. 13. Three finalists each in skateboarding, BMX and motocross will win a trip to Los Angeles in October to ride with Nyquist, Adams and Ellis.

Nyquist and Ellis will give demonstrations, and all three pros will be available for media interviews on-site.

WHEN: Saturday, May 1, from 1:00 – 4:00 pm
Registration from 12:30 – 2:00 pm at the Butterfinger tent in front of the “Pit” entrance.
