On Friday, January 24, eS Footwear hosted the Eric Koston Game Of S.K.A.T.E. Hundreds of spectators gathered to watch their favorite pros and ams battle each other for a grand prize of 10,000 dollars.

The contest was open to anyone who thought they could beat the likes of Koston, Mike Carroll, and the other notoriously consistent skateboarders. Several up-and-coming ams entered, along with a handful of relative unknowns. Among those skating notably well were Brian Emmers, Javier Sarmiento, and Joey Brezinski.

Skaters were seeded until the final match. The last three men standing were (predictably) Eric Koston, Koston’s protégé Paul Rodriguez, and Diego Bucchieri. “The Butcher” was in fine form, with switch double flips and backside late back-foot flips on lockdown, but he was the first man eliminated.

Rodriguez and Koston matched each other for a while, but eventually Rodriguez gave Koston an “E,” on a frontside nollie kickflip. To find out exactly who beat who, check out www.esfootwear.com/gameofskate.
