Lake Forest, CA. (09 July, 2003) – etnies couldn’t be more excited to welcome one of the best skateboarders of our time, the one and only Arto Saari, to the etnies team! Continuing the legacy of building some of the all-time best skate teams and footwear in history, Arto Saari is now one of the driving forces behind etnies.
An underground skateboarding phenomenon just a few short years ago, Arto Saari has rapidly become one of the most admired and influential skateboarders of our time. Born in Seinajoki, Finland, twenty-one year old Arto first made his way to the U.S. nearly five years ago and has since impressed the skateboarding world greatly with his innovative and powerful street skating.
In the year 2000, after completing work on his stunning debut part in a revered skate video called Menikmati , Arto was appropriately named Skater of the Year by Thrasher magazine in 2001. He quickly followed that up in 2002 with yet another equally mind-boggling part in the highly anticipated Flip Skateboards video, Sorry. With three years of solid, widespread coverage and acclaim under his belt, Arto Saari has already established himself as a household name in the realm of skateboarding.
Rocking etnies when he first stepped on a skateboard as a sponsored amateur, today Arto finds himself skating in the same quality brand of shoes that helped launch his amazing career. Excited about returning to his roots, Arto is hard at work designing his new etnies pro model and is currently enjoying wearing a pair of some of his all time favorites-the etnies Rap. When asked about returning to etnies, Arto’s reply was simple:”I’m going back to where I came from,” he said with a smile. “This is where it all began.”
Welcome back to etnies, Arto!
