Still 79>03 showcases the photography of J.Grant Brittain—one of today’s most important and prolific documentarians of popular (skate) culture. As Photo Editor and Senior Photographer for the past 20 years at TransWorld Skateboarding magazine, Brittain has helped shape the attitude and aesthetic of what has become the most popular skate magazine in the world.
The American Institute of Graphic Arts San Diego chapter will host a special reception for the photography of J. Grant Brittain at its Center for Design on Thursday, September 18, 2003 from 7—10 PM. With admission, the first 500 patrons will receive a commemorative 32-page book designed specially for the event. The night will also feature award-winning cuisine from Hash House and live traditional jazz by the Poinciana Trio. Rounding off this inspiring event will be a talk by J. Grant Brittain. Tickets are $15 General Admission, $12 AIGA members and $10 AIGA student members. The Center for Design is located at 344 Seventh Avenue in downtown’s historic Gaslamp Quarter.
