Koston To Skate The AST Dew Tour

The folks at the AST Dew Tour emailed us today to announce Eric Koston’s involvement in the Portland stop of the 2008 Dew Tour. It came as very welcome news, considering the mediocre roster of street skaters traditionally involved. In related news, the event organizers also announced their brand-new plaza-inspired street course (see below). It’ll be interesting to see how this improves/disrupts the choreographed runs of yore. Good moves on both fronts guys—it may just be enough to convince more legit pros to do the Dew.

Choregraphed runs? You mean runs that actually can be considered RUNS, instead of one hit, stop, one hit, stop, one hit. Yea, like most street skaters do I guess. Even me back in the day. I ain’t sayin’ there won’t be some hammers, and I ain’t sayin’ I won’t watch, but I ain’t sayin’ it’ll be better either. The Maloof course was completely different, and the contest was a big hit. So the suits think it’s all about the course. It helps, but $100 Gs kinda helps a bit too. This will be a boring contest for LIVE tv. A whole lot of stopping, with only MAYBE 2 tricks per line. Maloof was also NOT live when broadcast. Edited like crazy and ready for air in 4 days.

Eric Koston has been scoot boarding for quite some time now. He has also pushed the limits of skateboarding to the point he does not even have to compete any more. Plus he is over 30 and is doing better than all the other skaterboarderrsaraerers. Watch Lakai fully Meow or lakai fully flared I think. Whatever is the right one.
