Monday Madness (Dec 6)

In Golf War news:
Team LA mopped up Team SD on the OC links Friday. While Skin and Shane Wallace beat Ako and Duffy, Hime and the Gav smoked Lee Dogg and Lopes to give LA the overall victory. Not to mention Hime taking a cool 50 bucks off Lopes on a side bet. Talks of a $1000 purse rematch are already in the works. However, as karma would have it, the Chargers won their game on Sunday cementing their first place position in the AFC West. Meanwhile LA still doesn’t have a football team…

Cliché‘s latest offering Freedom Fries made an early arrival and subsequent circulation around our offices. Yes, it is an all new full-length video (less than a year after they released Bon Appetit), and yes, it is banging. It’s amazing how much quality footage you can log when annoyances like cops and handrails don’t hinder you.

Also on the new video horizon is Danny Minnick’s The Blvd. As soon as we can track down a copy, we’ll give you the play by play analysis.

Motley Crue reunion press conference/performance in Hollywood tonight—don’t think it’s open to the public so I won’t mention it’s at the Palladium and you probably won’t be able to get in. That’s alright, if you read The Dirt, you’ll remember this sort of thing happens a lot with this band.

SANTA SKATES, TOO!

etnies Distributes 500 Pairs of New Shoes to Needy Orange County Kids at the etnies Skatepark of Lake Forest

Santa, Mrs. Claus, their friendly elves and Pierre André Senizergues, owner and CEO of etnies, will bring holiday cheer to the needy children of Orange County by hosting a Holiday Festival complete with Christmas crafts, a pro skate demo, food and more. Plus, each child will receive a brand-new pair of etnies shoes just in time for Christmas.

The shoe donation and Holiday Festival will be held on Friday, December 17, 2004 from 2:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. in celebration of the 1st Anniversary of the etnies Skatepark of Lake Forest. Nearly 1,500 youth use the park each week.

Pro skateboarders scheduled to appear include Arto Saari, Rune Glifberg, Ryan Sheckler, Justin Eldridge, Lance Mountain and more.

Several Orange County non-profit organizations will bring children, from Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Club (Westminster and Garden Grove), Human Options (domestic violence shelter in Irvine) and Olive Crest (foster / adoption agency in Santa Ana).

With strong community input and support, etnies and the City of Lake Forest worked to create a world-class skatepark facility designed for the youth of Orange County. Using a public/private partnership to help offset the costs by more than 25%, etnies Skatepark of Lake Forest is currently one of the nation’s largest. Initially, Senizergues made a generous donation to the City of Lake Forest to offset costs and make the skatepark free of charge for all guests during its first year of operation. As an early Christmas gift, and in acknowledgement of a successful first year, Senizergues will make another substantial donation to keep the skatepark free of charge for yet another year.
