Monster Mastership Cancelled

It’s pretty crappy that the European Skateboard Association has cancelled this year’s Monster Mastership in Leipzig, Germany. But it’s even crappier that it happened on the event’s 25TH ANNIVERSARY. Good thing TWS made it that far, otherwise you wouldn’t be seeing our special 25th Anniversary Issue hitting newsstands in a month or so.

Here’s the official press release from Euroland…

Hello everyone,

Unfortunately we have to inform you that we have to cancel the Monster Mastership in 2007.

The unstable financial situation only four months in advance is the reason why we won´t set up the contest at the splash! festival in Leipzig, as it was originally intended.

We´ve already been working on the event for four months now and nobody can say that we haven´t tried everything to make it happen, but even if we cooperate with the festival there´s still a lack of approx. 500.000,-‚¬.

There will be a guestbook online on www.mastership.de within the next days to give everybody the opportunity to get rid off the frustration.

We would like to thank you for the support and the belief in the event in the past months, it really means a lot to us!

Hope to see you at our other events we are planning for 2007!

Cheers
