NYC skateboard advocate, Rodney Torres, is proud to announce that on Harold Hunter’s birthday, Saturday, April 2, he will host a charity skate jam to benefit the non-profit Harold Hunter Foundation.
The “NYC All Stars” skate jam will run from Noon–3:00p.m. at New Jersey’s premier indoor skatepark, Garden Skate. A bevy of NYC’s finest pros, ams and legends will be there to session the park and judge a Best Trick contest with prizes donated by Zoo York, 5boro, SHUT, DC, New Breed, Hopps, After Midnight, Naysayer, Raised Fist, Open Road of New York, and NYSkateboarding.com.  A five dollar donation is encouraged upon entry.
Once the skate jam is finished, the Harold Hunter Foundation will host a fundraising party for the 21+ crowd at The Blind Barber on NYC’s Lower East Side.  Dubbed “Harold’s Birthday Bash,” the party will run from 5:00–9:00p.m. and feature a raffle, drink specials and live sets by DJ Smoke L.E.S. and DJ Hiro.  A five dollar donation is encouraged upon entry.
All donations and proceeds raised during both events will directly benefit the Harold Hunter Foundation and support its mission of using skateboarding as a vehicle to provide inner-city youth with valuable life experiences that nurture individual creativity, resourcefulness and the development of life skills.
