Professional Skateboarding and Photography Event in OceansideScheduled for October 29
Oceanside Photo and Telescope (OPT) will present its second annual “Photoskateto Demo from noon to 5 p.m., October 29 at OPT, located at 918 Mission Ave., in Oceanside. The demo will be preceded by the opening of a skateboard photography exhibit the evening before (6 to 9 p.m., Oct. 28) at OPT’s new underground gallery inside the facility.
The “Photoskateto Demo will feature professional skateboarders from throughout Southern California as they exhibit their maneuvers in OPT’s parking lot on a ramp and demo course boasting three quarter pipes, plus rails and stair sets. The event is designed to allow both amateur and seasoned photographers to capture the action with their cameras. Visitors may also take advantage of camera equipment that will be available for loan by Cannon representatives.
Thoughout the day, on Oct. 29, lectures on skateboard photography will be held inside the facility.
Additionally, OPT’s permanent 3,000-square-foot basement gallery, which opened in July, will make way for the opening of a photography show featuring the works of renowned skateboard photographer Grant Brittain. The show opens at 6 p.m. Oct. 28 and will continue for the next seven weeks.
