A Quiksilver skate team update from Reese Forbes and Bubby

There has been a lot going on in the Quiksilver Skateboard world. Most notably was Bastien Salabanzi winning the “Globe World Cup of Skateboarding. The event took place on February 12, 2005 at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia. Bastien was very confident on this day and amazed a sold out crowd of about 15,000 spectators. For his victory he pocketed $30,000. Bastien has been on fire this year and Quiksilver is very proud of all his accomplishments.

Arto’s knee is feeling better and he is skating again. Arto and Bastien are headed to film in Shanghai, China with the rest of the Flip team. We can’t wait to see the footage.

Tim O’Connor just returned from Barcelona where he was filming for an upcoming video. He is soon headed back to Barcelona to film for the new Habitat video.

Stefan Janoski was just in Barcelona shooting, but his trip was cut short because he caught some kind of influenza. Stefan has recovered from his sickness and is currently shooting for an interview coming out in TransWorld.

Mark Oblow, the Quiksilver Skate Team Manager, just finished editing Dylan Reider’s part for the Quiksilver promo dvd. Reese Forbes said it is unreal. Dylan just returned from San Francisco. He was up there with Reese and Omar Salazar for a Rasa Libre team photo shoot. Dylan will be on his first Rasa Libre skate tour from March 23 rd- March 31 st. Look for Dylan’s interview in the TransWorld Am issue in June.

Omar Salazar and Kyle Leeper are currently in Barcelona filming for the new TransWorld video First Love. You can see the video in June. Kyle now rides for Black Label and he got a nice 20 Questions in the new TransWorld.

Reese Forbes , the Quiksilver team captain, just had a part in the new 411 video and is now filming for the new Nike movie. He will be in Brazil from March 14 th until the 20 th and then he will be on the Rasa Libre Southwest tour.

Christian Hosoi now rides for Quiksilver. He has been skating a lot after a small injury and is up in LA filming movie stuff.

Omar Hassan just returned from the North Shore of Oahu, where he was filming and skating pools.
