Paul Fidrych spent six years at Burton Snowboards, where rider input is at the heart of product development. With his new company, he hopes to bring that same philosophy to making skate shoes.

Savier Footwear is led by Fidrych and long-time industry friends and entrepreneurs Jeff Jewett and Rob LaVigne. Jewett once directed the skatepark and skateboard operations at Windell’s Snowboard Camp, was most recently the team coordinator at Smith Optics, and will direct Savier’s marketing. LaVigne is a former pro snowboarder, longtime rep in the action sports industry, and the man formerly in charge of Adidas’ skate program.

Says Jewett, “We have one goal¿to make the best skate shoes, period. We want to make skateboarding better¿not the industry or the image, but the actual act of skating. Our goal is to make a shoe that set the new standard for durability, board feel, grip, cushioning, and of course, the best new styles in the industry.”

Savier Footwear will launch this fall.
