KIDS' WISHES WERE GRANTED AND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS WERE RAISED FOR MAKE-A-WISH AT FIRST-EVER SKATE FOR A CAUSE
Best Trick Winners Malto, Sheckler and Lutzka Donated Prize Money to the Cause
Some of the best skateboarders in the world joined Ryan Sheckler at the etnies Skatepark of Lake Forest for the Sheckler Foundation's first Skate for a Cause event that raised thousands of dollars for the Make-a-Wish Foundation. It was one of those days when the skate community rallied to help others and had a lot of fun granting wishes, with three best trick contests, a demo and a skateboard carnival village with games and activities.
Two lucky kids' wishes were granted this morning at etnies private skateboard training facility too – Jonathon's wish was to skateboard with Ryan Sheckler, and Marissa wished to skate with Rob Dyrdek.
The total prize purse for the best trick contests was $10,000, and all the winners donated their prize money to Make-A-Wish! Sean Malto won $4,000 for the best trick on the 11-stair, Greg Lutzka got a $3,000 check for best trick on the center pieces and Ryan Sheckler earned $3,000 for the best trick on tranny.
