Zumiez Couch Tour Continues…

The Zumiez Couch is half way through the summer tour, and after only a few weeks, this is undoubtedly the best summer vacation in recorded history. Here’s a recap of the happenings so far:

The Zumiez Couch Tour kicked off on June 1st in Seattle, and from early on it was clear this would be one of the best events in Zumiez history. 3000+ kids packed the event area to see the Element Skate Team tear up the street course, highlighted by Bam Margera dropping in off a 20-foot forklift and landing it easily on his third try. Colt Cannon, Jake Rupp, Tosh Townend and surprise visitor -12 year old team rider, Tyler Bledsoe — all had the crowds going crazy during the Element demo. Local bands Instant Winner, The Rebelz, and Five Good Reasons played solid sets, and tons of people got hooked up with free stuff, made custom shirts at the DIY tent, played the latest games on Xbox, and more. At the end of the autograph signing, Bam had only his pants and watch left—fans even bought his socks! Every kid that stuck around was able to get something signed — thanks to the Element team which stayed signing for hours!

Seattle was only the beginning. Couch hopped on the Spy Bus and headed straight for RexPlex in Elizabeth, NJ where the crowds were eagerly awaiting the Element Team and special guests CKY. Once again, the Element team (Bam, Colt, Tosh, and Jake) put on a rock solid demo, with stand out Colt Cannon nailing every trick! The guys followed up with hours of autograph signings—the Element team is SO good to their fans!!!!Philly rockers CKY headlined the NJ stop. Joining CKY for their performance were Phil and April Margera, Raab Himself from Jackass, The Element team, and almost 2000 kids singing along to every note. CKY played an amazing set, but not before posing with Couch on stage for a few photos. Then CKY hung out and signed autographs well into the night. Later on, Couch partied like a rock star on New York’s lower east side with the Element Team.

The next day, Couch said goodbye to the Element team and got back on the Spy bus to Milpitas, CA to meet up with the C1RCA Skate Team. Colt and Tyler were on hand again with the rest of the C1RCA crew including Mark Appleyard, Caswell Berry, Peter Ramondetta and Chad Muska! Backed by Muska Beatz on the turntables, the C1RCA demo was off the hook! The C1RCA team hung out the rest of the afternoon to sign whatever the fans put in front of them, and like all the Couch Tour stops, there was tons of action in the booth area—free stuff, custom t-shirts at the DIY, Xbox stations, and more!

Couch is now on the Spy bus headed to Littleton, CO to catch up with the C1RCA crew one more time on June 21st. Then it’s off to Salt Lake City June 28th to hang with the DVS team and bands Hello Amsterdam, Kut u Up, and Name Taken. Finally, the last stop on the Zumiez Couch Tour 2003 will be Chicago on July 12th with Drive-Thru bands The Starting Line and Allister and the DVS team!!!
