The Texas Skate Jam that benefitted the Make A Wish Foundation happened on November 6. Brian Schaeffer and Ryan Clements from the Skatepark of Tampa came out to MC and basically run the show—of which they did an amazing job. Tons of pros and ams came out to show support and even more donated money and items for auction. There were three best trick contests: one as a bowl jam which Tony Trujillo won, one on the handrail which Terrell Robinson won, and one on the pyramid which Jamie Thomas won. Each victor was awarded $5000 dollars which they donated to the Make A Wish Foundation. By the end of the weekend, over 40,000 dollars was raised. Special shouts go out to Jeff Taylor and Adio, Damien and Southsore Distribution, and the Southside Skatepark. This is seriously one of the raddest grassroots events in skateboarding—you all need to come out next year.
