Pest Control “Little Kids, Big Tricks” Premiere

On October 10, 2002, Termite skateboards premiered its first skate video of kids for kids. Pest Control “Litle Kids, Big Tricks” amazed the crowd of over 600 who showed up for the event. The kids are truly the future of skateboarding as stated by skate legend Tony Hawk in the film.

By 6:30 p.m. the lines outside the Dark Horse compound in Venice, California were quickly growing while people signed in for their goodie bags packed with Pest Control T-shirts, TransWorld SKATEboarding mags, candy, and stickers.

All the Termite riders featured in the flick were in attendance to skate, sign autographs, and hang out with the crowd. With the portable street course brought by Skate Street along with Grind King’s mini ramp, there were plenty of things to entertain the guests. At least 300 kids showed up, so it was no surprise the place was turned into a giant playground. Having plenty of food, drinks, and a game room kept even the non-skating public entertained.

Grind King’s Jason “Wee Man” Acuna made a cameo appearence to the delight of many. Venice skater Ray Flores played DJ. Others making an appearance included Eric Dressen, Tuma, Chris Cook, Chris Swanson, Marko Jazbinsek, and Flogging Molly’s Nathen Maxwell with wife Jessica.

Hanna Zanzi and Andrew Rowe tied for first in the best trick competition to cap off the evening’s festivities. They swear it had nothing to with the local police telling Dark Horse to shut the event down.

Termite skateboards was happy with the turnout considering a last minute venue change. You should have been there.

Thanks to everyone who came out for the event and the companies that provided goodies for all to enjoy: TransWorld SKATEboarding, Tech Deck, Jerry Leigh Entertainment, Select Distribution, Grind King, and Kreper.
