This past Friday we hosted an art and photo show at the SoHo Arts Club out in NYC with our friends at Arizona. Artwork and photos from a bevy of TWS staffers decorated the freshly painted white walls while ice cold Arizona teas and Mississippi Mud pints were being served. Ninjasonik got on the mic and turned the studio space into a sweaty pit of energy, which was amazing—that, and his admirable speech at the end of his performance spilling his love and appreciation for skateboarding and the #artists involved in the show. Real recognizes real! He killed it.
Beyond the art show we hit the streets for 3 days straight and even made it out to New Jersey to watch The Nyj reclaim that Street League title. (Although watching Tiago Lemos skate LES was my personal takeaway from the trip). Scroll through some photos from the show below and stay tuned for an edit from the weekend dropping here on twskate.com shortly. Until next time, NYC! —Brian Blakely
The Transworld Skateboarding Institute For Editorial Excellence & Achievement in Art & Photography is not a real thing… Or is it?! Either way, our #StaffShow went off!
TWS Marketing Director (and ball point pen magician), Paul Kobriger & Arizona’s Skate Director, JZ Radical.
A few early birds scanning the walls.
Visiting from abroad, George Lindley and Sidewalk’s Farran Golding.
5Boro’s Mark Nardelli, Jay Riggio, and PK playing catch up.
Master lensmen—Jonathan Mehring and TWS editor-in-chief, Jaime Owens.
The creative mind of Joe Pease was there in spirit, and this loop of Ed Templeton was on sale for a stiff 1M. No takers… but it’s still available! 😉
DJ I. Sheik was there spinning tunes for the observers.
The Arizona bar was stocked with bevs!
Ninjasonik got the crowd hyped!

The walls were plastered with prints from TWS staffers.
Stop, stare, and continue.
Meanwhile, there was an entire other party going on outside. What’s up, Shigeo! #BlueSteel?
It was getting hot and stuffy inside so some of the crowd took to the streets.
Look at these handsome fellows: Paul Zitzer, DC’s Jeff Taylor, and Brian Schaefer going #logoless.
Tons of timeless photos were decorated on the white walls of the SoHo Arts Club.
Everyone’s boy Stephen Lawyer was on the wall courtesy of @Blair.Alley! Fam Fam Fam!

RIP J Boy!
Keegan Callahan’s hand drawn concrete wave was hanging on a huge canvas. Follow him on IG — @waxed.plynth
Big kids! Modern day #VideoDays squad in all of their glory.
Keegan Callahan, Smith grinding that smooth NYC marble.
VIP of the trip? It’s always Keegan. Tailslide fakie on blubba like nothing!
Paul Kobriger with his hand drawn, ballpoint pen portraits of Lance Mountain and Ray Barbee (both originally shot by Arto). Seriously insane…
TWS Sales Director, Mike Fitzgerald is not afraid of the NYC streets. Crooked grind in the humid night.
This spot has absolutely no chill. PK gets away with a bondoless frontside pivot on a nearly unskateable quarter pipe.
