VANS Presents The Dawn of the New AM ContestActive’s First Annual Amateur skateboarding contest sets new standards on November 19 at the Rancho Cucagmonga Epicenter, presented by VANS

Active’s First Annual Amateur invitational skateboarding contest, Active Am, brings a new meaning to amateur skateboarding contests. Active AM takes place on Sunday, November 19th, 2006 at the Rancho Cucamonga Epicenter. The contest focuses on bringing together 26 of the Worlds top amateur skateboarders, who were polled by the skateboarding industry.

The contestants will be judged in a †žjam session†° format and 6 skaters advancing to a †žwinner-takes-all†° finals – $5,000 cash ˆ And an opportunity to take home an extra $2,500 for the best-trick of the day. Admission is free to all spectators.

“The goal of Active Am is to make these 26 AMs feel like they are the pro for the day. This special group of individuals is the future of skateboarding. And we need to recognize them as the most talented amongst all Amateur Skateboards in the World. This is just the beginning of our dreams of making Active AM the compelling amateur skateboarding contest on the West Coast,” states Shane Wallace, President of Active.
