Dew Tour Ender In Orlando

Ryan Sheckler and Bucky Lasek Look for Back-to-Back Titles

The Dew Action Sports Tour, the pro tour of action sports, makes the fifth and final tour stop of its second season with the PlayStation Pro, October 12-15, at Orlando’s TD Waterhouse Centre. The five-city tour opened in Louisville in June and also included stops in Louisville, Denver, Portland and San Jose.

Ryan Sheckler and Bucky Lasek are among the athletes who will be in Orlando to compete for the Dew Cup, awarded at season’s end to the athlete with the highest number of points in each of the six disciplines of skateboarding, BMX, and freestyle motocross.

All 150 of the athletes who will compete in the PlayStation Pro qualified for the remainder of the season at the first two stops on the Tour, the Panasonic Open and Right Guard Open. Due to the depth of this year’s athlete talent, the Tour increased the finals field in all disciplines, allowing 12 athletes instead of 10 to advance to the finals. The Tour also increased the size of the Freestyle Motocross, BMX Park, BMX Dirt and Skateboard Park courses so athletes can perform bigger and better tricks.

Fans can explore the Dew Action Sports Tour’s Festival Village every day of the event, which includes athlete autograph sessions, video gaming and interactive courses. The Verizon Wireless music stage will feature Ludacris on Friday, October 13 at 9:00 p.m.

NBC will air the PlayStation Pro on October 14 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. EDT and October 15 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. EDT. USA Network’s telecasts are from Midnight-1:00 a.m. on October 13 and Midnight-1:00 a.m. on October 14. A 2006 season highlight show will air on NBC on from 4:00- 6:00 p.m. on November 26. FUEL TV provides pre- and post-event coverage of the Dew Action Sports Tour with 30-minute previews and wrap-ups. Check for complete listings.
