At the end of July, Jeron Wilson, Daniel Castillo, and Chico Brenes made their way over to New York for a short Skate More film trip. Skate More filmer, Haven Lamouruex, and photographer, Giovanni Reda, were along for documentation of the trip. Giovanni led us around Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, and Long Island searching for spots and getting us in a few ‘close call’ car accidents…Highlights of the trip include: hanging with Jason Dill and Jack Osbourne at Max Fish, Chico, Daniel, and Haven getting open container tickets in front of our hotel by a racist NY cop, skating through the streets of downtown Manhattan, and getting kicked out of Flushings (I just watched a video where someone was quoted “you never get kicked out of Flushings), well we did. We only got rained out one day, so it was a very productive trip. Thanks go out to Giovanni, Todd Jordan, and Eli Reed for being our tour guides to the spots we needed to get to.
The Thrasher King of the Road trip was kicked off a couple weeks ago, and off went Daewon Song with the Almost crew, Jereme Rogers with the Girl crew and Dennis Busenitz with the Deluxe crew. The best of luck to all those guys dodging crappy weather and battling out the challenges.
Check out the new Keith Hufnagel pro model on Real, it pays homage to Keith’s obsession with sneakers. It comes with a free pair of DVS laces as well.
If you were one of the lucky kids attending Skatecamp at Skatelab in Simi Valley, you would have had the pleasure of mingling with Daewon Song, Steve Berra, and Enrique Lorenzo. Thanks to all the campers and the SkateLab for making the pros feel welcome.
Mikey Taylor spent the better half of July on the East Coast, visiting with the boys out in Ohio at the Seek/Alien Workshop Camp, and then heading further east to New York and New Jersey. Mikey was out shooting photos with Giovanni Reda and filming with Workshop filmer, Brennen. Mikey’s part for the Skate More film is coming together really well.

Rick McCrank came down to California for knee surgery. He had a pinched meniscus. Apparently, the doctors up in Vancouver take a little vacation during the summer months and Rick would have had to wait a while before he could have this taken care of up in the hometown. Rick was cut open and fixed, and is now on his way to recovery. We wish you a quick and healthy recovery Rick!
