Mark “Monk” Hubbard, founder of Grindline Skateparks, and one of the fathers of DIY skatepark building, died on June 8 in his home in West Seattle. He was 47. A memorial fund has been set up if you’d like to help contribute.

The cause of death has not been released. Mark is survived by his wife and three children.

Mark and Grindline built some of the best skateparks in the world. If you’ve ever skated one (if not, make it your mission to do so ASAP), go out and grind one for Mark. Rest in peace. Thank you for everything.
