C1RCA News

The 3rd edition of the C1RCA Phoenix Am contest took place this past weekend at the Desert Plaza, Phoenix AZ. The event went well and showed once again what a good old Am skate contest is all about—a group of people getting together to share some good times!

The conditions were perfect, with a harsh sun shining over the new course where over 100 Ams from all over the world competed in the contest as well as in the Zoo York Best Trick contest, which went down on Sunday afternoon.

The C1RCA squad represented in force with the Am riders Sierra Fellers, Tony Tave, Windsor James, Grant Patterson and also C1RCA Flow riders, Colin Provost, Danny Rosario, Kurtis Colamonico, Rodrigo Lima, Branen Fitzgerald, and Canadian Flow riders, Magnus Hanson, Scott DeCenzo & Ryan DeCenzo.

After Saturday’s qualifications, the after-party featured the premiere of the highly anticipated Zero Video New Blood. Sunday brought us up to the semi-finals, finals and best trick contest. 1st place for both the contest and best trick, and $2000 for each win, went to Adam Dyet who took the finals with a consistent run and a nollie front heel 270 switch front board revert on the main handrail. C1RCA riders Colin Provost placed 4th, Sierra Fellers 5th and Danny Rosario 10th after ripping the course apart all weekend long.

Lizard King gave the kids what they were waiting for and threw down the last trick of the weekend with an ollie over the platform which landed right on the roof of the car, 10 feet away from the take off! If a rock star award were to be given to someone, Lizard would get it without a doubt.

Thanks to Cowtown, all the skateboarders who entered the contest, the kids who came, Zoo York, Royal, Nixon, Zero, Ogio, Bones, and Mirko for MCing like champ all weekend long.

At a recent shop meeting with Industrial in Park City, Utah, Adrian Lopez and C1RCA Team Manager, Ryan Ries, had a close call with a snowmobile. Let’s just say, it’s probably best to keep these two off the snow. Lopez lost control and hit a tree, after his brakes and throttle gave out, while Ryan went flying over the handlebars. After having to push their snowmobiles down, Ryan recalled, laughing, “If we could do it all over again, we’d definitely do it. We had a great time.”
