How do you celebrate a skateboarding icon’s 50th birthday like Christian Hosoi? You throw a skate jam at the Vans Combi Bowl with some of his closest friends and invite some legendary skate punk bands to provide the tunes—Drunk Injuns, Powerflex 5 and T.S.O.L.—and of course you skate. The man who has been styling out and making skateboarding look like a work of art for over 40 years was rightfully surrounded by close friends, other legends, fans, admirers and more this past Saturday as the party raged and the skating didn’t stop. Hosoi is the definition of style and still carriers the same intensity on and off the board to this day. It was an honor to be able to celebrate this special occasion with one of my childhood heroes and snap a few flicks. Happy 50th birthday, Christian! Here’s to many more years on the board, cause we don’t stop, right? This is for life. —Jaime Owens

T-Mag was blasting big like the good ole days.

Thank you Christian for everything you’ve contributed to skateboarding. It definitely wouldn’t have been the same without you. Cheers and happy birthday, Legend!
