To celebrate the upcoming premiere of DAEWON — a full-length documentary honoring the legendary career of Daewon Song, adidas Skateboarding invites Pro skaters out for a contest at Lockwood Elementary School, LA's historical picnic table skate spot. A pioneer of Californian picnic table skating since the 90s, Daeweon will welcome pros and spectators alike at one of skateboarding's most iconic and historic spots. Having paved the way for generations, Daewon has helped shape the possibilities for picnic table skating for decades. The 2019 contest will set a new standard inviting contestants to compete across four trick categories—best manual or grind on table, best trick over table, best trick on the bank to bench and a special Daewon Challenge; judged for best ingenuity and creativity.
Each section will feature a 25-minute open skate jam for all invited skaters who will be judged by their best performance in each category.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three winners of each section.
1st Place : $2,500
2nd Place : $1,000
3rd Place : $500
At the end of the day, judges will also award an additional $4,000 to the top overall skater of the day.
